The Owners - Graham and Liz Jones

Graham and Liz Jones first came to Cornwall ten years ago in search of that archetypal 'life change' away from the rat race and to focus on bringing up their three children.

Having spent several years converting and renovating their home they decided to buy a local business in Mawgan Porth, now called Cornish Fresh, which is a village store with a difference.  Alongside the basics, this little beachfront shop stocks a wide range of exotic and unexpected products and includes a deli and coffee shop in the summer geared to provide an extra sparkle to visitors' beach experiences in Mawgan Porth. The smell of ground coffee and freshly baked croissants and pasties has secured a popular local following. 

When the beach café became available in 2006, Liz and Graham decided that the time was right to re-invent it and provide a new quality restaurant in this pretty beachfront location. Now in its fifth year, Fire is an established venue in the local community as is regarded with affection as being friendly and a great meeting place for friends and has closed the gap with other trendy nearby venues.   

The owners are not lifelong restaurateurs, but they do have a track record in this small community which has seen them grow their business at a time when others are facing difficult challenges. This is down to hard work, a firm belief in quality and their unpretentious style which provides an easy welcome to all that enter.
